2010 Project 365 :: Day 005

Taken @ 12:37 pm EST
I wanted to photograph the snow today … but that was as far as my creative mind got. Personally, I am sick of taking pictures of my neighborhood (been there, seen that), so taking a walk & finding snowy scenery was out. Instead, I brought the snow indoors – onto my back door mat to be exact.
This photo is a fantastic example of why I enjoy macro photography so much. Our world is full of small details that we likely overlook every day. Slowing down & filling up on the little things around us can make any life great.

It’s a little difficult to tell that it’s snow, but it’s definitely a cool concept!

Thank you, Laura.
It is always a delight when you stop by my blog! Though I am only 6 days into the project, I am having loads of fun with it. I’m doggedly determined to make it all 365 days. With my apartment lease up at the end of April & my husband leaving for Marines boot camp in June, I am sure there will be some very interested photo-ops this year!
For me, the neighborhood issue is three fold. 1) I’ve walked around my neighborhood so many times that it is hard to see it with fresh eyes. 2) I prefer to take pictures of smaller scenes than whole houses. 3) It’s hard to get just the right nature light with a whole bunch of houses in the way.

I agree with you about the snow. I was hoping that it would be a bit more in-focus, but I think I moved in too close to take the picture.

I love this project, Victoria. Can’t wait to see what else your creative mind produces. I feel the same way about taking pictures around my neighborhood–maybe I need to find a new neighborhood…
