Brand New Photo Print in My Etsy Shop: Shades of Blush

Finally! After launching my Etsy shop in March 2009, I’ve added something new - alert the mayor! Trying to build 2 careers at once (writing + photography) is extremely difficult. Usually, writing wins my attention.

This particular gem was taken on Saturday while my hubby & I relaxed on the couch. I bought 3 peonies from Whole Foods just a few days before. They are nearly identical to the flowers in my wedding bouquet (seen here). I was feeling nostalgic.

Surprise Mention on Going Home To Roost

I can’t remember how I was introduced to Bonnie’s Going Home to Roost blog, but I do know that it quickly became one of my favorites – and not just because she lives in North Carolina. Sometime about Bonnie’s personality shines through in all of her posts and I feel like I’ve known her forever. She was also one of the few folks who posted about my One-Day-Sale.

Two New Photos I'm Proud Of

Between working with new clients & getting used to cycling again, I’ve continued to experiment with my new digital camera. Nature photography is my specialty, but my interests also lie in interiors, lifestyle, food, & still life images. As I expand my talents into these other visual genres, I’ll be taking you along for the ride.

The two shots I’ve included in this post are part of venturing into those new territories.

(My favorite glass + my favorite drink [water] + my imperfect back porch) x just the right angle = this nifty shot.

Ecstatic to be trying out the uber-eco-friendly Suki Pure skincare line, starting today. (Stay tuned for a review next month!) I couldn’t resist having a go at shooting the bottles – this was my favorite of the 30 or so images I shot.

A Menagerie of Images from My New Digital Camera

If you are following me on Flickr, then you probably already know that I got a brand new digital camera for my birthday (June 11th). If you aren’t, it’s a Canon Digital Rebel XTi and I couldn’t be more excited! The point of asking for a new camera is to help further my plans to pursue photography as a second creative career. I’m already selling my prints on Etsy and hope to make it into magazines one day – just like my writing (I hope you see the irony).

Unfortunately, Mother Nature has offered me less than a handful of sunny days this past month in which to practice with my new toy. Below are a few of the shots I have taken with my new camera (and am willing to admit I took, haha). You can check out all of the shots here on Flickr. Expect to see new print offerings in my Etsy shop very soon!
